Play Crosswords is built and maintained by Nabeel, an independent software developer and lifelong word-game fan. It started as a side project with a simple frustration behind it: too many crossword sites bury the puzzle behind signup walls, paywalls, and cluttered pages. This site is the alternative — open the page, click a square, start solving. Every feature, from the puzzle generator to the streak tracking, is built and tested by hand.
